Grading Policy

Unless otherwise stated, assignments are to be completed individually.

Feel free to discuss assignments with your classmates, but all written work, including code, must be your own.

If you receive help from anyone other than the course instructors, you must indicate this on your assignment.


Your course grade will be determined as follows:

Percent of final grade Assessment
25% Weekly programming assignments
25% Lab and lab assignments/projects
40% Exams
10% Class participation


Homework assignments will be graded according to the following scale:


Grade Description
S+ Outstanding. Work demonstrates complete mastery of topic.
S Satisfactory. Work demonstrates adequate understanding of topic.
S- Borderline. Work demonstrates some significant gaps in understanding.
U Unsatisfactory. Work is substantially incomplete, or demonstrates major gaps in understanding.
N Not turned in. Assignment not received by the due date.
